There’s a saying in the creative entrepreneurial industry. It is: “Some people are so busy working IN their business that they have no time or just don’t take the time to work ON their business.”
Wow.
I can definitely relate to this! And if you’re a business owner, or an executive in a MLM, or a Mom, or heck A PERSON, then I think you may be able to relate to this as well.
Sometimes, we get so caught up in the day to day grind, the hustle, that we forget our bigger purpose.
So, with that in mind, during hands-down my BUSIEST season of life yet, (October in the wedding industry yall..It’s a doozy..) I packed my bags and headed to Charleston, SC for the Callie Lindsey Photography Workshop experience.
I booked this trip over a year ago. I paid it in full. $1500 plus the cost of traveling to Charleston & the thought of having to leave my baby without me for three full days for the first time. To some of you, that may be just a drop in the bucket, cost-wise. But for a brand new business owner who wasn’t even sure if I’d have a business to own by this point, this was an investment that I took seriously.
I invested in my business because I believe what I’m doing is serving others using my greatest strengths. I invested in my business because I believe my clients DESERVE a wedding videographer that is working on ways to make their experience better and their images more high-end.
I invested in my business because I knew that investing now meant success later for my family.
So, was it worth it??
Ohmygoodness, yes.
Not only did I do a complete check-up on the Megan Pettus Videography brand and business structure, I also gained so many new friendships from other lady bosses just like me. People who are learning how to serve others with their talents and want to do that full time.
Over the next few months, you might see a few changes around here…maybe a new website, definitely some new resources for y’all!
I can’t wait to see where this business will go after I’ve implemented all the education I learned from the workshop.
