March 10, 2018—3,318 days. That is how long these two had been dating as of their wedding day.
You see, their story begins in grade school, when a cute brown-haired boy was seated next to a beautiful red-headed girl in the fourth grade. The two quickly became best friends and as of March 10, husband & wife!
From the stunning two-piece bridal gown from Bridals by Lori (yes, that one..the one on TV!) to the cascading gold confetti showering these two as they left for their honeymoon..every detail of the day was perfect. And Mr. & Mrs. Starling, well their 3,318th day together couldn’t have been any more beautiful.
These childhood sweethearts have a special place in my heart because they are basically the living version of Ariel & Prince Eric..It was so much fun being with them on their day! (Plus, Josh is an avid turkey hunter, just like my husband, so I felt it was my duty to prepare Elizabeth for what married life during turkey season would look like!)
Josh proposed to Elizabeth in Atlanta, and it was a total surprise to sweet Elizabeth! She told me that they had planned a special date to celebrate the end of a successful semester at Auburn. There was plenty of time before our dinner reservation, so they explored Piedmont Park. After strollinig down to the dock to take in a gorgeous view of the Midtown Atlanta skyline, Josh dropped to one knee and popped the question with a photographer hidden nearby! They then had a proposal photo shoot and wrapped up the day with a delicious meal at Canoe, one of Atlanta’s most romantic spots.
Speaking of picture perfect, can we take just a moment to talk about Elizabeth’s bridal gown?? The two piece dress fit her perfectly and was just breathtaking as she walked down the aisle of the church where her Grandfather, who helped marry the two, baptized her over 12 years ago. I also loved that her “something old” was a seashell brooch pinned beneath the layers of tulle, a family heirloom piece that has been in her family over 120 years.
After the ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Headland, guests headed to The Grand on Foster, where they sipped bubbly beverages and enjoyed the great Lucky Town Band. To cap off the night, confetti and streamers were popped as cheers of congratulations were heard from happy friends and family.
Elizabeth & Josh,
I hope you two are having and will continue to have the best marriage. Turkey season is almost over, and if you can make it through that, you can make it through anything!! I hope that you two get to watch this film year after year and remember the love and promises you made to each other standing at the front of that alter. So excited for what is to come for y’all!! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Starling!!
