The Wedding Day- Venue
Demopolis is a city where old and new combine, but when you step foot into its downtown historic district, it’s almost as if time has stopped. A vintage town clock can be seen under the antique red lights, and families stroll along the sidewalks-dipping in and out of the storefronts for boutique items and delicious food.
Walker and Sutton’s ceremony took place at Fairhaven Baptist Church, which has the most stunning wood ceiling and classic cathedral chandeliers.
Their reception took place at the Demopolis Civic Center, which was transformed into Sutton’s vision of a greenery and ivory ballroom. Florals dripped from the brick and wood fireplace, as candles flickered on each table softly.
Their tiered wedding cake was wrapped in greenery as well, and the food was absolutely Sutton & Walker. (I mean, chips & dip station and a shrimp and grits station? YES MA’AM.)
How They Met
It all started when these two southern sweethearts met freshman year of high school and began dating their sophomore year. After being best friends for a while, they started dating. They’ve been together for 7 years! At the rehearsal dinner, Walker’s best friend talked about how even as sophomores in high school, they always knew that Sutton & Walker were meant to be together.
The thing that makes this story even more special is knowing that they were such good friends before they started dating. When we filmed their Engagement Video back in February, they described meeting each other for the first time. You see, Walker and his family moved to Demopolis when he was young. Sutton can remember seeing the moving trucks and thinking, “I hope boys live there!” Little did she know it would be her future husband.
The Proposal
Walker surprised Sutton with the most romantic engagement! He had Sutton’s family & best friends each gave her a rose, leading her to the backyard. There in the light strung, candle and rose petal filled backyard stood Walker holding a dozen red roses. Walker told Sutton how much he loved her and a lot more sweet things that neither of them can remember. Walker then got down on one knee and asked Sutton to spend forever with him. It was the most magical night of their entire lives.
The Wedding Day- Grab Your Tissues!
We were already emotional watching Sutton’s reveal to her bridesmaids early that morning, but when her Daddy saw her for the first time, we lost it! So sweet! Add on top of that Walker’s amazing reaction to seeing her for the first time and you have one puddle of a videographer. After celebrating with their friends at the historic home by the river, they said their vows in front of all of their loved ones at the church. Whisking away in a classic car, these two then danced through the night to the awesome Farmer’s Daughter Band.
It was the MOST FUN day, and we are so excited to share with y’all!
