May 5, 2018— “It all started with a beer.” In fact, it all started when these two were introduced at the rodeo in Auburn, then it turned into something real after being left at Sky Bar to talk and dance the night away. After that night, they found themselves texting occasionally and would spend time together..but neither one could admit that they were perfect for each other. A long distance romance started after Jordan moved to Shreveport for his residency program..and Alex decided she would finally tell Jordan how she felt. While at work, Alex typed up the text but was too nervous to send it. She discussed it with a coworker and showed the message she had typed. Alex’s coworker “accidentally” pressed send! Meanwhile, Jordan is at work, completely clueless to the fact Alex might like him. He receives this (long, heartfelt) text and replies “sounds good.”
These two have the most infectious kind of love, you can’t help but have fun around them! They also know how to throw a party-complete with plenty of Cinco de Mayo margs, dancing, and fireworks.
Speaking of Cinco de Mayo & Margs, they play a key role in their relationship. In fact, a couple of weeks prior to the proposal, Jordan asked Joe and Randy (two of Alex and Jordan’s friends) to invite friends to the Redmont Hotel rooftop bar, including Jordan and Alex. Jordan knew they could invite Alex’s friends without it being suspicious. As far as Alex knew, the plan that day was to go to Taco Fest at Avondale, with Jacob and Sally, then meet up with friends at the rooftop bar. Little did she know, Jacob and Sally were in on the plan.
They spent the day eating tacos and sweating their butts off. (Alex’s wording! haha) The whole day, Sally had the ring in her tiny purse and acted completely normal.
Once they got to the hotel, Jordan’s plan was to ask Alex to take a picture at the rooftop bar at sunset and he would propose while they were posed for picture. However, within minutes of being there, Alex asked Jordan to take a picture. Jordan frantically tried getting the ring from Jacob but Jacob didn’t notice. At this point, everyone there but Alex knew what was happening but she was too busy fixing her hair for the picture to notice everyone getting their cameras ready and Jordan getting the ring. Finally, Jordan began to get on one knee. As soon as Alex saw the box and Jordan getting on one knee she started saying “what?? no, no, no…” in a very nervous and surprised voice and began crying. Jordan asked, “will you marry me?” After almost a minute of crying, Jordan stood up and said “so, are you going to take this or not?” Alex pulled herself together and said yes! The whole bar broke out in applause!
Family is important to these two, which is why it made perfect sense for their families to be waiting in the wings to celebrate their engagement!
Flash forward to their wedding day, as family & friends danced the night away in celebration of them being a new Mr. & Mrs. to old school Backstreet Boys and of course, a little Witney.
Alex & Jordan,
We had the best time being with you two, and will always raise a lime margarita on Cinco de Mayo to celebrate you!! I hope you two have as fun and fabulous of a marriage as you did your wedding!!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs.Garrison!!
