Meredith & Justin were married on August 12 in an intimate backyard ceremony at their future home in Chelsea. Rain didn’t deter these two from having the sweetest ceremony in front of family and their closest friends. I loved what Meredith’s mom wrote the day after the wedding. She said, “Less is more. In a very small private ceremony with both immediate families only invited Meredith Hooper and Justin Snider were married last night with lots of love, raindrops and a rainbow. I’m so proud of them for making the ceremony about them, their promise to serve God and to love each other. A wedding is a day. A marriage is a lifetime. Last night we celebrated a marriage.”
I have known these two for many years, and watching their love story has been so much fun. Oh, and they now live right next door to my family, so you can say we have history! 😉
So how did they meet? Meredith explains that it started as a high school romance. “Justin was two years older. His cousin was friends with my sister and I talked them into fixing us on a date. We went on a few dates…. but we went our separate ways. Almost 8 years later, in 2015, I moved back home from Texas and was always sick in the winter going into Snider’s Pharmacy. He finally asked me on a date, even knowing I was sick. We ate dinner and watched a movie. Our next date was to see Little Big Town and we had so much fun watching them at the BJCC Concert Hall. That was in March, 2015 and we have been dating and having fun ever since.”
You can tell they have been having fun ever since just by looking at them interact. The way that Justin smiles when he looks at his bride would make any heart melt. You can truly see their love every time they talk to each other.
The Proposal
He proposed on a family trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado on New Years Eve. They were surrounded by friends and family and the skiers were skiing with torches down the mountain. “He asked if I wanted to spend forever with him. Of course I said yes!! There were fireworks, and real ones too.” 🙂
I think it is so beautiful that Meredith & Justin chose to have their wedding ceremony at their future home. I can imagine many years from now, them recounting this happy day to new family members living in that home. Meredith and her maid of honor got ready in the master bedroom of the house. Meredith was so calm, just taking in every moment of joy on their day. Watching her play with her niece, Emory, you can tell that family is her greatest joy and treasure. Speaking of Miss Emory, she and Justin have the sweetest relationship. He actually gave her a little ring to wear and she loved twirling around in her fancy dress.
The moment that impressed me the most on their day was that morning when I went in to say hi to Justin and let him know I would be coming back to start filming soon. In his office, waiting to make a covenant with God and Meredith, Justin was reading from a devotional. What a testament to his vows, where he said he would lead his family
There was a little bit of rain on their wedding day, but these two smiled through it and had the sweetest first look under a clear umbrella. Then, as if God himself were sending a blessing down for them, a rainbow appeared just before the ceremony was set to begin. Gorgeous! (Also, Will, Justin’s brother, said he thought the rainbow looked like it was ending in Auburn, War Eagle. Haha)
They exchanged personal vows to each other as the rain continued to fall lightly. Gorgeous, heartfelt vows that promised love, fidelity and security in God and each other. It was a blessing to get to witness.
Meredith & Justin,
Thank you so much for having me there to film your day. You two are starting a new family together that is strong in faith and love. I hope you will always enjoy each other like you do now, and Meredith, that you provide plenty of banana puddin’ for your man. Seeing as we’re basically next door neighbors now, y’all don’t be strangers. The Pickles always have room for two more at the Monday night dinner table at Nana’s.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Snider!!
