Hamilton Place at Pursell Farms
First, this Pursell Farms wedding was just stunning. Its historical “Hamilton House” is flooded with natural light and antique southern charm. Add in the largest cake topper I’ve ever seen (just kidding, it was a gorgeous decorative focal point designed by Brittany Gilbert) and the flash mob to MJ’s “Thriller,” and this wedding was a videographer’s dream!
All the aesthetics aside, Jesse & Kurtis could have been married in burlap sacks and trash cans, and they would still be a dream to work with. As soon as I got home I told my husband that I’ve never met a couple as giddily in love as these two. It’s that pure, butterflies in your stomach and goofy grin on your face kind of love. And it is such a joy to capture!!
Veterans Day Wedding
Every detail of the day held a special significance to J & K, from the vinyl records used as a guest book, to the special Veterans Day dance the couple hosted in honor of all of the loved ones they know that have served in the military. Jesse explained that “A majority of our family members (and even his best man) have served or still serve in the military. With us getting married on Veterans Day, it not only seemed important, but also special. We want our family (and friends) to know that we appreciate what they have sacrificed for our country and how much we love them for that. “
Personal Touches in Planning
The vinyl records were a big hit, and guests loved getting to sign a part of something that the couple will enjoy for a lifetime!
“We just got a record player this past March (I really really wanted it but Kurtis would tell me that we don’t have the room and “what are we going to do with a record player?” But right before my birthday – he brought home the record player!! <3) so we need records!! The story behind the vinyls: the Elvis vinyl is because the grandparents will walk down the aisle to Can’t Help Falling in Love; the Great Gatsby one is from when Kurtis and I talked Zane (one of the groomsmen) into hosting a “fancy party” where all the girls wore their old prom dresses and the guys wore suits and it was just a reason to dress nice and hang out and feel classy (insert laughing emoji); The Eagles vinyl is for the song Hotel California – for Kurtis’ graduation trip, he and I went to California for two week and it’s still by far my favorite trip… well ever!
Aside from the details, the day was filled with special moments, from their first touch (you’ll see what I mean in the video!) to their personal vows and family & friends flash mob at their reception.
Letter to the Couple
Jesse & Kurtis,
You two have the most special kind of love there is, and I feel so honored to have been the one to capture that love as you start this new journey together! As Pam once said in The Office “”When you’re a kid, you assume your parents are soulmates. My kids are gonna be right about that.”— and I believe your kiddos are going to be right as well! I’m so happy for y’all.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Williams!!
-Megan
