The Venue

The sunset was brilliant at The Barn at Twin Valley Wedding of Sydney & Kyle as they were enjoying their first few moments as the new Mr. & Mrs. Casey. In fact, we found ourselves feeling as though we had stepped into a Norman Rockwell painting, watching as golden light broke through the trees and fell softly on the rye grass in the field, all while two preciously-in-love people shared a kiss in the front seats of a vintage white Chevrolet Truck.
The folks at the Barn at Twin Valley were a JOY to work with, and the venue itself provided the perfect backdrop for Sydney and Kyle to say their “I Do’s.”
Meet The Couple
Sydney & Kyle
These two first met Sydney’s freshman year of college. She says that she played hard to get for over SEVEN years before finally responding to a Facebook message from Kyle on her birthday. They went on their first “date” at the beach (where she was living at the time) and the rest is history.
One of the sweetest moments of their day was hearing them share their personal vows and thoughts through love letters. These two are no stranger to the idea of love letters. In fact, Kyle has been known to share his heart on paper several times throughout their relationship.
Even though they were in two different cities- Kyle in school at Auburn, Sydney in Gulf Shores working- they made it work! They made it “official” in September of 2017 and today, September 8, 2018 they become husband and wife!!
The Proposal
Alabama Shakespeare Festival Proposal
Kyle proposed at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in February. After walking around for about “30 seconds” Sydney says he couldn’t wait any longer!! He popped the question and then they celebrated with their families (and cake!😍)
The Wedding Day
The Barn at Twin Valley Wedding
The day started out quiet, as both the bride and groom got ready in separate rooms at the Barn at Twin Valley.
Sydney and her sisters performed some impressive acts of strength to help sweet (and so talented!) April Bagley Photography and I get the perfect dress shots. The former cheerleaders had us all cracking up!!
Kyle and his groomsmen got dressed together and sat around listening to ball games, all while sneaking a sip of beer here and there.
When it came time for the ceremony, guests filled the outdoor chapel-decorated by The Vintage Garden in “the southern snow” (cotton) and greenery. Rustic but understated, each floral piece perfectly epitomized Sydney’s vision for the day. All eyes were on Kyle as the double doors opened to reveal Sydney in her lace form-fitting, illusion back gown. You could tell that these two only had eyes for each other as she made her way down the aisle, a beaming smile on her face. Kyle’s eyes immediately lit up and tears started forming, and he immediately said “You’re Beautiful” to Sydney as soon as she was within earshot.
After the most gorgeous sunset formal portraits, these two joined their guests in dancing the night away thanks to DJ Steve Haynes & his fun music choices.
The Reception
The sweetest part of the day (in my humble opinion) was the “anniversary dance.” In lieu of a traditional garter & bouquet toss, Sydney and Kyle decided to ask all married couples on the dance floor, then DJ Steve asked them to leave as he called out the years of marriage. 10, 20, 30 years were called out and folks trickled out from the dance floor…but Sydney’s grandparents remained. 62 years of marriage. What an amazing commitment and accomplishment!!
After dancing their feet sore, the newlyweds exited to a shower of bubbles and back into the Chevy truck to head off to their honeymoon.
Sydney & Kyle,
You two are the sweetest couple with the most incredible hearts. I am so proud to call you a MPV, and my friends!! Like Kyle said, Sydney, you’re going to need to wear that dress again every anniversary. #stunningbride K, thanks.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs.Casey!!
