Venue-
Troy Videographer
You cannot beat a countryside sunset in Troy, Alabama, especially when it’s the backdrop for an intimate, love-filled wedding ceremony. As the sun was setting the most stunning orange-pink color, sweet Taylor was walking down the aisle with the biggest smile on her face. Equally important, her groom, Nathan, anxiously waited at the front of the aisle to see her, asking his Dad “Can I look yet??” Getting to be the videographer for this moment will forever be one of the best memories of my career!
Meet the Couple
Taylor & Nathan Stroud
These two music lovers met at Troy University on the first day of classes Taylor’s Freshman year.
After being “just friends” for a while, they finally went on their first “date” to Momma Goldberg’s. That night, while watching a movie, he put his arm around Taylor (you know, with the whole stretch and yawn technique). Something funny happened in the movie, and when she turned to look at him, he kissed her. (Taylor says it was super cheesy and cute! Love it!) Two days later, they went on their first official date, and the rest (as they say) is history.
A Cinderella Moment
The Proposal
Nathan proposed to Taylor at Walt Disney World, behind Cinderella’s Castle, next to Prince Charming’s Carousel! To set the scene, Taylor said that they had reservations at Be Our Guest for dinner with their friends, “so we all dressed up and started heading to our reservation. Nathan said he wanted to take some pictures before we got there since we were dressed to nicely (and, you know, in Magic Kingdom). Sadly, because we had gotten an incorrect time for the start of the fireworks, the front of Cinderella’s Castle was completely blocked off. So, instead of taking pictures in front of the castle, we went behind it (next to Prince Charming’s Carousel). Then, we didn’t even take a picture before he was saying, “don’t stop me,” and getting down on one knee.”
The Wedding Day
August 25, 2018
The Bride
The day started with the girls getting ready in downtown Troy at Brooke’s Salon. Before getting dressed, the guys (and grooms-woman!) were at the wedding venue, a private home in the countryside, playing video games and cutting up. The morning of the wedding Nathan wrote the sweetest post on Facebook, detailing the 24 things he was looking forward to with his new bride. (Just get ready–they are so sweet!) After slipping into her stunning lace gown from Bella’s Bridal and sharing the sweetest first look with her Daddy, Taylor got to read Nathan’s personal vows to her. Let’s just say the tears were flowing behind my camera viewfinder.
The Groom
Next, Nathan excitedly got dressed with the help of his Mom and Dad, and you could see how much they love him in their faces as they pinned his boutonnière and adjusted his tie. Namely, Rachel Barrentine, with Flowers by Rachel, did an amazing job (as always) with the florals. She created a stunning fall color palette of roses and greenery that perfectly complimented the sunset ceremony and Taylor’s bridesmaids’ dress color. After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed their first dance and a delicious breakfast for dinner catered by Sips on the Square, then romantically exited in a shower of sparklers.
Taylor & Nathan,
Your wedding was so perfect, but your marriage will be even better! I cannot wait to see you cross off each of the items Nathan wrote about in his post. Know that I will be cheering you on over here!
