Yellow Branch Plantation Wedding

Driving up to Lindsay & Mikey’s Yellow Branch Plantation wedding, we were surrounded by the most beautiful fall foliage. Orange, yellow, and red pops of color peeked out among the green leaves, and frosty wind snipped at us. True Alabama weather showed out on their day with a sunny morning and freezing cold evening. Luckily, these two planned ahead and had a warm bonfire to keep guests warm. Yellow Branch Plantation is a gorgeous venue to get married at, with its beautiful lake and rolling hills covered in pines.

The Wedding Day

While Lindsay and her girls got ready in the lodge, Mikey and his groomsmen enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and chatting. Mikey was as calm as could be, but we could tell after his first look with beautiful Lindsay that whatever jitters he had evaporated the moment he laid eyes on her. These two aren’t a couple dying to be the center of attention, but just listening to their best friends describe their love story and love for each other it’s evident that they make everyone around them stronger.

Meet the Couple

High School Sweethearts

Lindsay and Mikey met in high school–in fact, one of my favorite parts of the day was when their officiant, Mr. Mickey Caldwell, mentioned that he was also their high school teacher. “I thought I would need to put a bike mirror on Mikey’s desk to keep him from constantly lookin’ back at Lindsay,” he said during their ceremony. SO SWEET.

Wedding Day Details

With a fantastic vendor team, each detail was perfect. Lindsay’s dress from Bella Couture was a SHOWSTOPPER and can we just admire their tiered cake?? SO stunning. Details aside, the laid-back party vibe at their reception made for an environment that just felt like family. You know you’ve met a couple that is the best when they insist in sharing a Marg at their wedding reception with their videographers!
